I just flew into La Guardia and I am so glad to be back in the U.S.. Just came back from Miami a.k.a. Cuba North and found out how spoiled I am with the stores in Manhattan. If you venture down to an area called Coral Gables and dare to shop for a wedding gown on Miracle Mile, leave your money at home. This place is rip-off central with stores ripping tags out of dresses, knockoff gowns and prices that will blow your socks off. Everyone of these stores, except for David's Bridal, plays games with prices and gown switching while you shop. Many will sell you the dirty sample dress off the rack and claim it to be new. The shop kepers are rude, hostile, very pushy and barely speak english. They act insulted if you walk out the door and some will even chase you down the street to get you to come back in. "Wait, wait, I give you better price", "You pay cash, I give deal better for you". I guess that is the way they operate in third world countries. Its like shopping in the islands, if you have ever been down there. The locals call it little Havana, but I just call it Cuba North. The local rag of a paper called the New Times states that the place is the Best Place to Buy Bridal Attire. Are they kidding? Is that all there is in Miami? I would check out other cities like Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton or Palm Beach. I did not get to go up there, but I am sure their must be some sort of civilization in the business. Here is a list of what I saw and what you should avoid. Also check to see if there are any complaints on these small con shops. They are all bad and way, way over priced.

David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo are located also on this strip. Why? They are junk store anyways that are already know for bad service and inferior product. I believe David's and Alfred Angelo bridals got their start in south florida.
You would be better off buying sight unseen on the internet. Hell, you would save more money just throwing it off the plane.
Here is the rag of a paper called the New Time "Best Of" piece. I think they must get a kickback by the bridal salons. What a joke...
"Best Place to Buy Bridal Attire
Miracle Mile
Coral Gables 33134
Drive down Miracle Mile and you'll begin to notice a subtle pattern. There's David's Bridal (39 Miracle Mile), Bridal City (326 Miracle Mile), and Coral Gables Bridal (141 Miracle Mile). There's Chic Parisien (118 Miracle Mile) -- specializing in, yes, bridal. Miracle Mile really should be renamed the Get Hitched Three-Quarter; all told, there are close to ten shops specializing in wares for the big day -- or days, if you're a multiple mater. (Plus the jewelry stories specializing in engagement rings.) So if you're about to tie the knot for the first, second, or fourth time and you need to bedeck bridesmaids or find a frock for a flower girl, there is no better place in Miami-Dade, or possibly the planet, than the Gables. And best yet, when all of your sartorial needs are met, you can take care of the icing on the cake, literally. Head to the Wedding Cake Gallery, conveniently located at 30 Miracle Mile."
